I had like a long button up night shirts. I didn't shower so I just stayed in that and then wore nursing tank/hoodie and maternity leggings home.

I mostly wore nursing tanks with a hoodie and yoga pants. I had a c-section though so my bleeding wasn't out of control (they suction a LOT out). I don't really like hospital gowns and I didn't have to worry about getting checked except for my incision.

Thank you so much for all of the suggestions! It's totally what I thought, I feel like it's split 50-50 on the staying in the hospital robe or wearing your own clothes. I think I'll bring some clothes with just in case I decide I want to wear my own! :-)

I took loose nightgowns and a nursing tank and a robe, but honestly stayed in the gowns they gave me until my last day. Don't know if it's because I had an unplanned c section but it was just so much easier to be in their gown and just cover up with a robe if we had to go to nicu or if visitors came. If we have another, I'm not even going to bother with any clothes except going home outfit and a robe.

After then initial ickiness I wore a nursing tank and yoga pants. I was not comfortable in the hospital gown with visitors, I felt very exposed. I also liked to be in a chair instead of the bed after my c section. My bottom got sore from sitting in the same position in bed.

I brought a bunch of clothes (nursing tanks, cardigans, yoga pants) but never got out of the hospital gown until it was time to go home. It just made life so much easier - and cleaner! I wore one of my maternity dresses home.

I wore the hospital gown the entire time in the hospital, but I didn't have many visitors. Even if I had I don't think I would have cared. Everything is so messy and they come and check down there like twenty times a day so it was so easy.

I did bring a couple of nursing tanks (target) which is what I wore home- loose yoga pants, nursing tank, and I had a zip up hoodie but didn't wear it since it was hot.

Maternity tanks, but I didn't put one on until leaving the hospital. I wore the gown the whole time, I wasn't expecting to, but it ended up being really comfortable and easy to nurse in, and I could get a fresh one anytime.

I didn't have any special shirts but I did wear nursing bras. Like supernovaj, I wore a hospital gown most of the time because it was easy to pull down for baby to feed and I didn't care about getting blood all over it.

target has great nursing tanks. i would definitely pack those, and a thin zip up hoodie.

after i delivered and was in the recovery room, i was in the hospital gown most of the time just because things are icky and there is a lot of bleeding. however looking back, i hated how loose and uncomfy the hospital gowns were. i think for my next delivery, i'll bring very loose yoga or sweat pants. for a vaginal birth, they will give you HUGE stretchy mesh undies with the most gigantic pad you've ever seen, and will sit you on top of a doggy pee pad. ;) so glam huh?! but just that set up made me want to stay put in the hospital gown...

but i packed regular clothes for going home.

I got a set similar to this for when I had visitors. It was really comfortable. At night or when we didn't have visitors I wore a hospital gown (you bleed so much and I didn't want to ruin my clothes). When we were discharged I wore a nursing tank and yoga pants. If you're planning to BF I'd just do nursing tanks and maybe a cardigan or robe if you think you'll be cold.

I think a nursing tank is fine with a hoodie/sweater but I packed simple nursing tshirts with my second and was much more comfortable when I had visitors. IMO nursing shirts were so much easier than layering regular clothes.
