I had a c-section though so my bleeding wasn't out of control (they suction a LOT out). Don't know if it's because I had an unplanned c section but it was just so much easier to be in their gown and just cover up with a robe if we had to go to nicu or if visitors came. I was not comfortable in the hospital gown with visitors, I felt very exposed. I also liked to be in a chair instead of the bed after my c section. It was really comfortable. At night or when we didn't have visitors I wore a hospital gown (you bleed so much and I didn't want to ruin my clothes). When we were discharged I wore a nursing tank and yoga pants.
