Mostly everything gets washed on cold because it keeps clothes nicer, no shrinking, less fading. Towels and sheets and now soiled baby stuff gets washed on warm or hot (depending how dirty).

I use the cold setting for most but hot for towels and sheets....now that I think about it though, I don't know why I use these settings!

Ok, I am totally switching to cold. There is a sticker on the inside of the lid about how to get rid of stains, and it says something about washing on as high of a temperature as possible for best results. Maybe that's why I started using warm all the time? No idea, but I'm totally jumping on the cold bandwagon.

Our washer only does cold and warm so usually everything gets washed on cold.

I do most of my loads with cold (because I have also heard it's good for saving energy). I do my whites with hot (because I've heard that's one way to help keep them their whitest). I also use our eco-friendly mode... I don't really know what it does but it makes me feel good about laundry and saving energy. haha

I always use cold cause I heard that saves energy (and then money). I wash sheets and towels on hot, cold rinse.

I tend to use the warm/cold setting as my default. But, I've never actually thought about why, or if I should be using different temperatures for different types of laundry. Which temperature do you use and why?
