So we primarily got our smaller stroller to use anytime we were going to need a stroller with the car (visiting my parents or grandparents, shopping...) We were living in NYC at the time and I didn't want a huge stroller, especially for public transit. We shipped all the other gear ahead of us via my in-laws who drove. We started using it around 18 months and it made a world of difference. M is 2.5 and doesn't really like the stroller so we rarely use it.
