My go to was to buy a large round loaf of bread, cut the top off, rip out the inside bread and then fill it with basil, fresh mozzarella, cold cuts, more cheese, olives, more basil, and then place the top back on once the layers were filled to the top and then wrap it in aluminum foil and pressed down with a heavy sauce pan in the fridge. That way all the flavors meld together and it makes cutting it easier.
