Our adoption included all birth mother living expenses. Most people see a list of charges and think that's it... but then they get slapped with birth mother expenses afterward. Ours also included medical which is often not included.</p> <p>The only thing that wasn't covered was our legal dealing with ICWA, but that was a little expense for us since the tribe had no prevailing interest given that grandfather was adopted into a white family. I had no idea adoption was that expensive. What exactly makes it so costly? </p>
