Our bedroom is close to LO's, so we would constantly do checks on him because the sound monitor didn't do it for us. The video monitor is so much better. I can watch as he's waking up and see if he'll soothe himself back to sleep. LO's room is only 10 feet from ours, so I'm really not worried about having a video cam. It was decent until we got a new router, and then it never worked. I guess if there's too many signals going on in the house, it can crap out. We'd have to unplug the router every night, and after awhile, it just had issues finding signal all the time. Now we use it for traveling.</p> <p>We replaced it with the iBaby, and so far, it's been great. I didn't research monitors at all. For all I know, other monitors could spin straw into gold. My only complaint is the feedback that it gives off when the camera and display are too close. My friend has a summer infant monitor and it gives no feedback ... So she could have her lo in a bassinet right by her bed and still watch him on the camera ....
