I have the munchkin one, too and have been happy with it so far. We really only use it for the noise while sleeping and the lullaby for when we are getting ready for bed. The projector is cute, but I don't use it.

LO loves the twilight turtle, but it's on batteries and a timer. I've only had to change them once in two years though.

We have this one (although we use the sound machine 99% and rarely turn on the projector). It plugs in and comes with 3 discs of different "scenes" you can change out. You can leave it on all night or set a timer.

@Mae: Haha, they are very pale, and you can barely discern the shape of the stars (at least I can't when I am not wearing my glasses, lol).

I will keep thinking...have you tried searching on lamps plus for novelty lamps?

@snowjewelz: yea i looked at that first-- it is sort of what gave me the idea. but the lights don't move and it can't be plugged in i don't think. (and i think it automatically turns off after like 30 min)

@looch: agh if that white lights i think it would be perfect ! maybe i have to change up my search and look for that... I really don't want anything too colorful/interested because LO is OBSESSED with electronics or anything colorful right now. If the tv is on (even just to the blue screen with moving white text) she is too distracted to sleep, or even if she sees the green lights on our monitor. I want something as boring as possible while still being movement for her to stare at lol. (who knew when I bought the cute chandelier for her room I should skip it and install an ugly black ceiling fan like in our room.. hah)

Not a night light, but...only $25! My son has it in his room, we've attached it to a remote control (the ones you typically use for holiday decorations).

http://www.homedepot.com/s/star%2520lamp?NCNI-5

It is the black disco ball looking thing.

We had the Fisher Price Projector Mobile, it was a gift, we used it all of 3 months before we had to remove it from the crib (although we could have used it if it had been attached to something else).

we have one by Munchkin that plugs in! Noise machine, plus it will project different scenes.
I love it and would buy again, but for full disclosure our projector stopped working shortly before LO turned one. We love it for the white noise and nightlight so we still use it every night. Got it on amazon.

ETA: this: http://www.amazon.com/Munchkin-Nursery-Projector-Sound-System/dp/B006SFUEF2/ref=sr_1_21?s=baby-products&srs=2596966011&ie=UTF8&qid=1412965523&sr=1-21&keywords=munchkin

So my LO is obsessed with staring at the fan in our bedroom as she falls asleep right now, which is fine because it works. But I realized that someday (sooner rather than later I hope) we'll finallllly make the move into her bedroom and she does not have a fan. I want to get her used to staring at something else in our bedroom for a while that we can then move to her room so that it will be familiar (hopefully) and help her sleep. I think what I want, ideally, is:

1) Something that projects some sort of stars or similar lighted shape (but not something too interesting/colorful)

2) Something that spins, because I think the movement of the fan lulls her to sleep

3) Something that can be plugged in so that it can stay on all night, every night, and I don't have to worry about buying stock in batteries.

It seems like most of the projector/soother things I can find just work on batteries.. Does what I want exist? Do you have it? Do you love it?
