My family had a stomach virus when my boss texted me and said he needed a report now. My baby, sitting on my lap, threw up on me as I was working on the report. I managed to snatch the laptop out of harms way and continue working on the report. Pressed send and cleaned up the puke. WOHM superhero stuff right there.

Nobody looked at that report for three months.

Making soup and other food while both kids were home for three weeks straight! The toddler doesn't nap, so I was afraid we'd be eating nothing but hot dogs!

But DH does the real superhero stuff... like, he puts DD in her crib and she naps. Or he gets her to take a bottle. In the seven months I was home, I was never able to do either

Last winter when DD was 2 months old our pipe burst and I was home alone. She was in the middle of nursing, and I literally held her to me while she was nursing, called DH, figured out where the shut off was, raced to shut off water, proceeded to lay towels everywhere to soak up the water, etc all while DD was still in my arms nursing!

Travelling with LO to New Zealand from Canada solo when he was 2 1/2 months old. It was around 24 hrs travel time due to a connection in Sydney. On the Vancouver-Sydney leg, which was 14 hours, LO slept half the flight, and didn't wake up when I had to go to the bathroom. Everyone else was sleeping around me, so I couldn't ask anyone to watch him while I went, and I HAD to go. Still not sure how I juggled him on my lap in that small bathroom, without waking him. I am also pretty proud of getting us both there and through multiple airports with a stroller, a backpack with our spare clothes, a diaper bag, and him, all by myself!

My kid has been working on toileting for a while, and the past week he has been really resistant to using the toilet, which has resulted in a number of pees on the bathroom floor or in clothes. Last night and this morning, I changed strategies and--rather than just trying to encourage him to sit on the potty and see what happens--I talked to him about how he had peed on the floor recently and it would good to try to get the pee in the toilet instead. And then he willingly sat on the toilet and peed without incident!

It was a very small thing, but successfully reasoning with a toddler felt like such an achievement.

All of yesterday: worked all day, untangled conflicting messages from my insurance company, G's pediatrician, and the radiology department at the hospital. Got both kids fed and bathed and in PJs...was nursing G to sleep, had to pee...took her into the bathroom with me, where I had to help E brush his teeth...while I was peeing. Multitasking FTW!

Getting a new job when LO was 6 months old.

We had been financially struggling once I started back at work and was paying daycare. So, I got a new job that is a step up in my career, comes with more money, job flexibility, and better benefits. As a result, we are no longer struggling and are able to buy a house this year. I feel pretty superwoman like for not settling in my career and not feeling intimidated about starting a new job when I still don't sleep through the night.

I always feel like a ninja if I can move/transfer her while she's still sleeping. The most impressive was probably when lo and I were flying solo to go to my fil's funeral--she fell asleep on me in like the last 20 mins of the flight, and I was able to gather/repack all our things, get up, wait for the stroller, carry the stroller and lo and our bag to a chair out in the airport lobby. then I waited for my mom who was on another flight, and she helped me unfold the stroller, and then I transferred lo into the stroller all without waking up. She woke up like 5 mins after I transferred her, but it ended up being a good nap nonetheless! There's also been several times where we're out and about and she falls asleep, and then I get her transferred from the stroller to her crib, taking off her shoes and coat in the process.

Giving birth? lol

Seriously though most of mine are very similar to yours. I always feel B.A. when I can do other things while nursing (though I've injured myself doing that too lol). I guess my specific moment was when DD2 was about 2 or 3 weeks old. It was my first grocery shopping trip with both girls (DH was working late and we had nothing, I had no choice). We got home after our usual dinner time. DD2 was starving and needed to nurse but DD1 wanted a second hot dog so I nursed DD2 woth one hand while I chopped a hot dog with the other.

Last weekend when we were flying to Texas to see my parents. I nursed my son to sleep on the plane, passed him up one row to my husband (we can't sit next to each other because we have 2 lap infants). Then I nursed my daughter to sleep, too. They both slept through the last 1/2 hr of the flight, disembarking, picking up our luggage, and into my mom's car.

This was a few years ago, but we were coming back from a playdate on the u-bahn and my son, who had been completely fine, started to tell me he wasn't feeling well. He was sitting in the stroller right by the train door, and when he started to cry, I knew he was going to puke. Luckily, we were pulling into a station. I opened the doors and pushed the stroller out of the train as fast as I could over to a trashcan, where he started vomiting immediately. I was proud of myself for recognizing that he was going to be sick and getting him off of the train before anything happened (and I have a minor phobia of vomit).

What parenting moment made you feel like a superhero?

* * * *

Mine was when dd2 was still an infant. She was crying because she was tired/hungry. So I was nursing her but DD1 needed to go poop in the potty. So I was holding the baby with one arm and nursing her. And wiping a toddler poop butt with the other hand. 😂

That was my superhero moment. LOL

What's yours?
