This is really helpful. C doesn't have any allergies (that we know of) but I try to always be aware of them when we are around kids I don't know that well.

I think this is great advice, and it extends beyond allergies! You never know what kinds of things kids are dealing with, it could be allergies, it could be sensory disorders, etc. That's why I am very careful about my son and his space, for both other children and him!

Nice.

I try not to show my crazies, but you have so much to think about when you have a kid with allergies and I have two of them! Luckily, I haven't run across any issues as yet. Everyone has been understanding when I've had to say something. I turned down an impromptu invite last week because I didn't have any food packed for LO and she wouldn't have been able to eat their dinner.

Love this article:

http://www.scarymommy.com/kids-with-allergies/

We were at a birthday party one and this little girl was totally all up in Xander's face and just wanted to keep planting him with kisses, but she was eating cake and drinking milk, so I had to be that mom who kept restraining her and keeping her from causing my kid to have an allergic reaction to her mouth!

That's another reason not to let your kid go up and hug/kiss other children they don't know - you never know what allergies people might be dealing with!
