So if we want fish we'd have to wait till the girls are older and can help daddy maintain a "complicated" tank. </p> <p>We already have a dog, and when our dog passes, we'll probably get another dog!</p> <p>Growing up I've had gold fish, turtles, birds, rabbits... We had to put one of them down after Olive was born due to cancer, but the other is happy in NY! Now in the Philippines we own 2 dogs, but have rescued over a dozen others and started a shelter. We love our dogs and I can't imagine not having a dog from now on (I didn't want a dog after the traumatic death of my last rescue dog 10 years ago).</p> <p>Now I'm thinking about getting the kids fish for Christmas. I'd like hardy fish that don't die like goldfish? Or maybe ones that reproduce like crazy like guppies? Any advice? I haven't had fish in over 20 years! </p>
