Her older brother was never snuggly unless he was hurt or sick. </p> <p>The absolute, pure joy we feel when we just take a minute from the madness to sit back in silence and watch our beautiful kids. I think I do this at least 3x each weekday night, and so many times each weekend day. My heart at that moment is so pure and happy and complete. Sounds so cheesy but it's true.</p> <p>I am sure I don't have to tell you how much your heart bursts when they show love for each other. Or, even better, protectiveness. Of course they fight too. We rarely have tantrums, he's pretty mellow and doesn't get into things. If he skips a nap, he's fine. We didn't have to baby proof much. Eating is getting harder lately and he doesn't require much sleep, but other than that, he's easy peasy! Honestly, my toddler is really easy. I always hear about all these tantrums and food battles and crazy hijinks other toddlers do, and mine does all those things only rarely. She was much, much harder as a baby (she had feeding issues of all kinds and was up every 2ish hours all night long till she was almost 1 year old). But now she plays by herself! And eats well! And is hilarious!</p> <p>Sooo......yeah. it's hard for me to picture having a baby that's even easier? I find my toddler to be so easy compared to my baby (10 months now). Big brother is a breeze. DS2 is needier than big brother was at the same age and he's gotten more difficult as he's gotten older as separation anxiety has hit. But overall, yes, having a baby the second time is easier because you know what to expect and realize most things are a phase.</p> <p>What surprised me about having two is how DS1 loved his brother immediately. I'm surprised that LO1 wasn't super jealous, and how much she loves him - it's probably because we're still able to give her a lot of 1-on-1 time. I'm also surprised that it's not that bad going out with the two of them on my own. </p> <p>@Anagram: Looking back, i think LO1 wasn't as bad as i thought during the NB stages. it's just that as a first time parent you don't know what to expect, and you don't know what "tricks" work. She was protecting him, in her head, and it was amazing to me. </p> <p>Now, my youngest loves being in the middle of it. He always wants to be with his big brother and sister!
