Pushing was fast (15-20 minutes) but baby's heartrate was bottomed out and not coming up and I could not push him out because he was born with his arm up next to his head - my OB cut a big episiotomy and he came out on the next push. I had a bunch of stitches. Pretty uncomfortable recovery.</p> <p>Baby #2 due in May... we shall see! I delivered the placenta on my back. I had very little tearing.<br /> Babies #3 &amp; #4 (twins): On my side, since both had small heads basically no tearing. Delivered on my back and had a first degree tear. I labored standing with my second and she came very quickly. I delivered on my back because the OB made me and I did not have any tears with her. Logically I know LO is fine and I’m sure the midwife did exactly what she was supposed to do but it took a long time to process. </p> <p>LO2: I arrived at the hospital at 10cm, climbed up on hands and knees and announced it would be done that way. With my first I tried a few different positions and that by far felt the best and most productive. Longish labor, not very long pushing, some minor tearing requiring a few stitches but nothing major. I also had a vacuum assist with that one. Cord was around his neck and he wasn’t descending like he should. </p> <p>Second: started pushing involuntarily on my side with a peanut ball between my legs. He descended quickly and I moved to my back with stirrups supporting my legs.
