I've always laid DD2 on her back but DD1 was a rough sleeper so I would often lay her on her tummy aftrr putting her to sleep because she slept better. Especially for naps.

We lay her on her back, but she immediately flips over to her stomach and sleeps that way instead.

Tummy since day one. He has reflux & screamed on his back. The first two weeks he slept on our chests and then in a bassinet next to our bed, now his crib. The only time hell sleep on his back is when he's in our bed on our feather mattress topper. He has excellent head control & is very strong. He'll be 4 months Saturday and can almost sit up unassisted!

Still on his back at 5 months, but he rolls to his tummy when unswaddled (we don't swaddle at night. We put him down on his back where he stays for naps when swaddled).

When T started rolling over at 8 weeks or so, our ped said it was fine to put him down on his stomach. He could go tummy to back but not back to tummy. And the movement startled him

Back only! Even once she could roll both ways and was a tummy sleeper always her back. I couldn't live with myself if something happened and I had put her I that position. Even at 21 months I always put her on her back!

Back only, but we cosleep so she's pillowed on my arm. Stomach would be unworkable anyway. For what it's worth, I've been able to shush pat on the chest as a nanny. Not as effective, but it did work.

Back always until she was a super roller and now usually on her side even though she usually rolls to her belly to sleep at 14 mo. I'm super paranoid about SIDS so the only time pre-rolling she wouldn't sleep on her back was if she was asleep on me while I was awake.

LO is only 7 weeks old, and still in RnP mostly, but if flat we are doing back until his neck is stronger.

When my first LO started rolling he rolled straight to his belly and started sleeping much better

On his side. Even as a newborn, when I put him flat on his back, he somehow managed to roll to one side when he slept. Even though he didn't fully roll, roll till a couple months later. At least we didn't have to worry about getting a flat head in the back. :silly:

I did back only for my first, but with my second, I let her sleep on her belly from very early on (maybe two weeks old?). She had great head control and slept in a PnP right next to our bed so I just wasn't worried about it. Her sleep improved exponentially and even now, at 21 months old, she rarely sleeps on her back. She just doesn't like it and I'm fine with it.

I usually put DS on his back but I have just started the baby whisperer shush pat which is obviously easier on his side or tummy. When he is fully asleep I generally roll him to his back but I'm wondering if anyone lets LO sleep on tummy or side? My DS is 12 weeks and can't roll unassisted yet.
