Overall, there's just a huge range of household incomes in our district. Not to mention, our county is full of issues. It's been used for years across the country as a case study of how NOT to run a school system. Other schools have PTAs that raise a fraction of those funds. Some schools that perform well normally were left off this list (US News Best High Schools) because minority and low income students weren't performing well enough.</p> <p>Our area definitely has issues with low income and minority students struggling to keep up with their peers. </p> <p>We also have issues with teacher pay. Many teachers in our state are either leaving the state or the profession all together due to low pay and an early burn-out rate. </p>
