@chopsuey: @Mrs. Lemon-Lime: those are both really nice but I think we need something with cupboards or doors somewhere on it? Man, I really love the look of that one from CB2! I wish it had a cupboard underneath instead of empty space. I know it's a desk so it's made for a chair under it but I think something like that would be perfect if it had a little storage under the desk part.

@sera_87: I kind of like that ... but for my kid's room. Ha!

@lamariniere: I think I like the idea behind the first picture and definitely like those pocket organizers. Maybe I'll try something like that if I can't find a solid piece to fit in the space.

I saw this on cup of jo recently, it's not quite my style but it still looks neat. You could add a simple desk under it for the laptop.

Also, wall pockets are a neat idea.

We have 32" to use between the carpet line and the sliding glass door moulding. We need mail, stationary, general office storage, as well as storage for some papers we need on a regular basis. This secretary was handed down to us and isn't cutting it.

This is in our kitchen. I've looked into ikea but couldn't find anything that would fit. I think that's our biggest challenge. What will fit here that we can use for storage? Oh.... And one last requirement.... A place for us to set a laptop when we need to....

Thoughts or ideas? Width doesn't matter, just length.
