@GoGoSnoGirl: @LindsayInNY: I know, I am very pleased. I was so downtrodden about everything but now I am feeling so hopeful to have a plan! And I'm really happy about all the monitoring because I feel like I will have a good idea about how it is going rather than just sitting around forever waiting to get AF or not. :)

We formalized a plan.I am due for AF today or tomorrow so we can get started right away.

-CD3 testing and ultrasound baseline
-Clomid with monitoring
-Timed intercourse
-vaginal progesterone after O
-HSG

I feel like she is very thorough and positive. If the monitoring shows that I'm not responding, we will move to injectibles. Then if that doesn't work, we may go to IVF. @FaithFertility: Thank you. How did you do on clomid? I'm a little worried about side effects...
@jaguar: Thanks. Glad to have a plan of attack! BTW, I am SOOOOOOO excited for you!
@Mrs.Pinecone316: Thank you. I am feeling very positive now!

It is mostly going through a detailed medical/ttc history and then ordering of labs and possibly diagnostic tests like a HSG. Hope it goes well for you!

Lots of chatting and a barrage of test referrals - though if you've already had some of them, you might be right! And hopefully a plan of attack at the end of it. <3

We went over my history DH history, I had a pap and cervical check, then we talked about where to begin!
Through my OB I had already taken 4 rounds of clomid so he had that info and an HSG.

@travellingbee: we filled out the pages & pages of paperwork before the appt about our histories & still spent 1h taking through all the same info. We were also able to get an u/s of my ovaries (for additional info towards understanding if/how much DOR would be an issue for me beyond blood work) that day. She also ordered D3 blood work & HSG for me, & SA for DH. Once we completed all that, we came back to discuss the plan. I'm glad you got an appointment so quickly... Wishing you so much luck! :goodluck:

@Leialou: Thanks. I filled out a HUGE questionnaire. I guess they'll ask me some of the same things again.

You'll answer a lot of questions. I also got an ultrasound at my first appointment. My RE went over the medical records she had for me and DH and then ordered blood work for both of us.

My first RE appt consisted of going over our history of TTC, lab work & DH's SA. My RE had me get my transvaginal ultrasound, took photos, then once he got what he needed from the ultrasound, we talked about what fertility steps could be taken. He also gave me a diagnosis & discussed the different ovulation meds available. Mapped out a plan of what the next 3 months would entail in terms of what steps would be taken if I didn't get pregnant on the first try. Good luck with your consult! :goodluck:

At my first consultation with the RE we just sat and talked for about an hour. She asked me a lot of questions about my health history and asked DH many questions as well. I already had some lab work done previous to going in, but she had it all repeated at her clinic. She also ordered another SA for DH (he previously had one done by his urologist).

We talked a little bit about treatment options and she explained some things about treating me (I have PCOS). She also increased my dose of Metformin. We didn't get too far into the treatment discussion though, because we had to get through the testing first. This was 2.5 years ago for me so I honestly don't remember everything clearly, but I know I asked questions about success rates for women with PCOS, talked about my age, etc. She didn't order an HSG for me until a little later into the process when we wanted to try IUIs.

Good luck with your appointment! I felt so much better going to see someone and having a plan of action! It made me feel like we were finally making progress!

We go tomorrow morning to my RE consultation. It will be cd1 I think, as I expect AF tomorrow. I was referred because of low AMH (0.73) and high FSH (however that was taken on cd14). I also have shortish cycles and spotting. We have one son and have been trying for the past 5 months to get pregnant with #2. What should I expect from this appointment? Anyone with experience recollect what the beginning of this process looks like? Thanks!

ETA: I am 37 next week so I am also AMA.
