@Bookish: I have read a lot of his books but not The Dark Tower series. Adding those to my list (which is 80+ books long right now but I bet those are quick reads which will move them up!)

@twodoghouse: @Bookish: Yes, I think it did just win the Pulitzer! I couldn't stop reading it, I went to bed much too late several nights because I didn't want to put it down.

If you're open to Fantasy, I highly recommend Finnikin of the Rock and its sequels! I'm finishing my third re-read of Finnikin right now! For YA fantasy I also really like Kristin Cashore's novels and The Raven Boys by Maggie Steifvater.

Woohoo! Thank you, fellow bookworms!

@Beehive: That won the Pulitzer, right? I suppose that makes it worth checking out!

@theotherstark: You have good taste in books! Thanks for the 'quicker than game of thrones' suggestion! I love those books but I don't have a month to read them :p

@debbiei8: I LOVE The Lunar Chronicles! The 3rd one just came out and I NEEED it!

@shellio: I need to re-read The Stand at some point! Have you ever read his Dark Tower series? I <3 them

You have to read the Kingkiller Chronicles by Patrick Rothfuss! So good! And much quicker than the Game of Thrones books (although I recommend those too :) ).

Not sure if you've read The Night Circus, but I loved that book as well.

Anything by Sophie Hannah or Tana French (mysteries).

Have you read Neil Gaiman's The Graveyard Book?

And if you're interested in YA, I liked Kristin Cashore's Graceling.

Have you read the Legend series? I LOVED it...such a good YA distopian.

Another great YA series is The Lunar Chronicles. They are sci fi novels with fairy tale storylines.

@knittylady: have you read any Val McDermid books? She does murder mystery/detective books. I love her stuff. Her book, A Place of a Execution, is a good one to start with if you haven't. It's a stand alone novel. A lot of her other books are in series.

@Bookish: have you read The Book Thief? I always recommend as it's my favourite book ever.

@SweetiePie: I'll finish it! I was definitely liking it up to that point, I just lost the motivation! It doesn't help that I'm usually reading more than one book at a time, so the most exciting wins out :-)

@JerricaBenton: Yes! I really liked it. But I guess that still doesn't mean that everyone will :-) I really liked how everyone's lives started weaving together.
I also just started "Hidden" by Catherine McKenzie. So far so good, but I'm only a few chapters in.

You know which one everyone loves but I lost interest in pretty quickly? Gone Girl. I'm sure its very good but for some reason it didn't suck me in. I need to be sucked in early in a book...like in the 1st chapter or else I lose motivation.

I recently re-read The Stand, by Stephen King, horror/post-apocalyptic. I loved it as a teenager and loved it again a couple months ago.
