People usually ask and so do I :). Prob the best bet. But I prefer diapers go in kitchen garbage since it is changed most frequently.

I carry bags with me, put the diaper in there, tie it off and drop it in the first wastebasket I see. I figure the bag holds in the smell and makes it less obvious?

I'm in the camp of unless they have a baby in diapers themselves, I pack it up in our wet bag and take it home with us if we're using disposables (we CD).

I always take it home! If you throw out a poo diaper in the regular bathroom trash, it will stink up the bathroom. That's not very nice. I carry those scented plastic baggies so I just take it home in that.

We use cloth at home but sposies when travelling, I have always asked the host where I could toss the diaper. Like Cocobee, I also ask where I can breastfeed as well. I think that way everyone is comfortable and happy.

I take it with me. I buy the Arm & Hammer bags for diapers outside of home and then take them with me. I don't care what people do with them at my house, but I just would never want someone else to have to deal with my kid's pee and poo. That's just me, though.

I usually ask the host. At home, we put wet diapers in the kitchen trash can. Dirty diapers get tied up in a grocery bag and then disposed of. Pretty much everyone we know has kids of their own and have a system for dirty diapers. It's never been a big deal.

Like @Mrsbells, if I'm at the home of a friend with a baby, I use their diaper bin. Otherwise, I always carry extra ziploc baggies in my diaper bag, so I'll put the dirty diaper in a ziploc and throw it out when I get home.

we plan on cloth diapering, but in the instance where we would use a disposable, i would probably ask where the outside trash can was, especially if it was a stinky one. if it were just a wet diaper and the bathroom trash had a lid, i would have no issue throwing it in there.

I usually ask the host too, but typically it's either a diaper pail or kitchen garbage. I keep a roll of puppy poop bags in my diaper bag if I don't feel comfortable tossing it until I get home.

We don't have a diaper pail, all diapers go in the kitchen garbage. It's smell tight and goes out ever second day at the least.

I voted outside trash cans b/c usually parties are both indoor/outdoor and for us the trash can is really easy for everyone access. But I understand if it's not an easy access thing, I'd ask the host. I like the idea of tying it up in a plastic bag if you are going to toss it in the bathroom trash. I always appreciate when people ask and I can direct them to the easy backyard trashcan.

@Coco Bee: Now that I think about it, I think DH did ask the host. I don't know. The whole first 4 months have been a blur!

Personally, I'd rather people use the bathroom trash. That's just where poo and pee stay to my brain. But there is a huge variety of answers and I'm fascinated by that.

i'm with @Coco Bee: I always ask the host and then dispose of it myself. And I also carry the little scented baggies (like Doggie poop bags). If it were at my house, I would actually want the poop diaper disposed of in the bin outside.

If they have a diaper genie then I would use that. People use my munchkin diaper genie when they come over to my place. If they dont then I would put it in my planet wise wet bag and carry it home withme. I would definitely not put it in their regular bathroom trash

I voted to bring it home with you, because I think that's what I'd do, but in my house I'd want the person to ask me (I'd tell them bathroom trash) or tell me where they put it. The only thing that would bother me would be if they put it somewhere and I found it a day or two later - I don't empty all the trash every day.

I usually ask the host!! I ask the host everything out of courtesy,
-do you mind if I BF here, or can I use a bedroom?
-Where should I throw his diaper?

then I always get my answer. It's usually the kitchen garbage or garage.

My sister always asks where to throw it out. In general, though, I would think pee= bathroom trash, poo=ask the host, specifically so they know you are happy to bring it outside?

If it was MY house, and someone asked, I would want them to just put it in the bathroom trash, but I'd be glad to know that so I would know to take it out that night.

I don't have babies yet and I'll admit that I am TOTALLY grossed out by dirty diapers in the kitchen trash. In fact, when I have friends come to visit, I am actually going to suggest they use the outside trash for diapers to preempt any gross situations (especially since I know they use the kitchen trash at their own house). I think asking a host about where to put a dirty diaper is totally the right thing to do. On the other hand, I totally wouldn't expect people to bring diapers home with them!

Unless they had a child in disposable diapers themselves (in which case I'd ask to use that trashcan), I would always take the soiled diapers home to dispose of. I always carry those small plastic bags for doggie poop and just put anything in those, knot the top and throw it in my bag until I get home.
