We used the tommy tippee (kind with silacone top). He didn't get the hang of the zoli until 9 months and with the tippee he could bite the mouthpiece and get water no problem. Now we just use the zoli though.

My son didn't use a straw for a long time, he would always tilt the cup and get frustrated, so we skipped straw cups and pretty much went to open cups. Now he can use a straw in a regular cup, but I admit, I was worried he was missing a milestone.

We use the playtex ones - we have 2 spouts with the handles & a straw one (same idea, with the 2 handles). It took about a month but she's got the hang of it now. She won't drink much from it but spits it out.

The ZoLi was the only cup LO could use. We tried several others but he couldn't get the hang of them but the ZoLi was an instant success. It was also a success with friends whose LO's were having trouble using other cups.

We got Lo a zoli straw cup but I wonder if its too difficult to start him out with? He can sometimes figure it out but I generally have to help. What sippy/straw cup did you start out with? Do you think the zoli is ok as a first cup or should I get something "easier" for him?
