There is a process for unblocking sites, but it is obnoxious and takes forever and I think my manager even has to sign off on it so I've never done it. The only personal browsing I usually do on my work computer is legitimate news sites (CNN, Wash Post, NYT, etc) and the sites themselves are okay but some of the embedded content is sometimes blocked. But I work in a satellite office and we literally do not get cell phone or old school radio signals in the center of the office, so he approves our use. It's a separate server, so it doesn't effect the main office.
