@gotkimchi: Do you ever have guests, and is this "lifetime" furniture? We have one dedicated guest room, but I like the option to have guests stay in one of my kids' rooms rather than on an air mattress, if, say, DH's parents and my sister in law both come for the holidays. Also, I'm expecting my kids will keep their beds for a long time, and don't want them to have to sleep in a twin when they're older, or even when they no longer live with me and are bringing home a spouse to stay with us (if the beds last that long - mine from growing up definitely did!) - so we've bought fulls and queens.

@MrsSRS: @PinkElephant: thanks everyone! I'm spatially challenged so it's so hard for me to tell what sizes are right.

@Anagram: that's helpful! Maybe twin is the way to go because then we have options later for bunk beds or a second twin

My son's room is 9×9, and we have a twin bed, a wardrobe, a bookshelf, and a nightstand. There is still room to play. I think you'll be fine with a full.

@Anagram: I was also thinking....I've been in NYC studio apartments that aren't much bigger than 12x12  I think there will be plenty of space!

@gotkimchi: I don't think 12x12 is small at all. You could fit a queen if you wanted. But for a kid's bedroom, I guess it depends on your needs. I think our kid's bedroom might be around 12x12 and we used to have a queen and now have 2 twin beds. Plus a dresser, plus a kallax shelving system for toys, plus two toy boxes. Plenty of space!

@PinkElephant: thank you! I guess I don't have anything else to go in at the moment, the closets are decent sized so i hope I can get all the clothes in there.

What else needs to go in the room? If the answer is not much, and you can place it in the corner, you can probably fit a full as long as it's not a sleigh bed/you skip the footboard!

What size bed should we get for our kids 12x12 bedroom? We currently have a super single which I LOVE but it's impossible to find sheets to fit it. I would love to get a full, but am worried it will be to large for the room. What do you think?
