College dorms and camps always have small beds and don't want to set him up for sleep failure when not at home in his comfy bed lol. Partially because she rolls a lot and I think she'll be more comfortable/less likely to fall out. Mostly because I think there will be times as she gets older (when she's sick or whatever) when she wants to sleep with me and I'd rather sleep in her room with her than let her sleep in our bed. Plus it seems like it would be nice to be able to snuggle with her before bed and read a book or something rather than having to having to sit next to her bed. </p> <p>And FWIW I had a queen bed for as long as I could remember (I don't know if it was my first bed but certainly the first I remember) and I had a twin when I went to college and was just fine. Teenagers are more adaptable than toddlers. I would do a twin because I want there to be playspace in her room. And if she gets a sibling one day, we need room for a second bed in her room too. We are still deciding whether to get rid of the queen and buy a twin, for more space in the room (she will be sharing it with baby sister) or just keeping it since we have it and she likes it. </p> <p>It is nice that she has so much room to spread out now- a2 year old in a queen is adorable! I think if you have the space a bigger bed is nice but not necessary.
