Maybe ask your doctor about it! If I put it on an hour before the shot I don't even feel the needle. The oil still burns a little but not nearly as much as it did without it! Plus it just works better when I can do it faster. The needle is much, much, much scarier looking than it ends up being- I would stress myself out about it every time but then would barely feel a sharp little pinch when it went in. Good luck!!!! I was shocked the needle was so long. I thought the needle was going to hit my bone! But my shot was fine. I usually request the 18 gauge. It hurts a little more going in but it is so much faster with the thick oil. The needle the pharmacy sent me is 1 1/2 inches long. I'm debating whether I should call and ask for a 1 inch needle.
