For snacks I send mini rice cakes, puffs, fruit melts (Plums cremies, just started sending today) every day. I also send for another snack one of the following: banana chunks, avacado chunks, peach chunks, rasberries (halved), waffle strips, french toast strips. None of our food is shared w/ other babies.

(For breakfast I always send oatmeal mixed with fruit and lunch is a finger food meal of a starch and meat. I also send a jar of baby food which sometimes he will eat and othertimes not).

Are these shared between other kids or just for M?

For shared snacks I send puffs.

But for her afternoon "snack meal" I usually go with fruits, applesauce, etc

Honestly, I don't really differentiate between a.m., lunch, and p.m. snack for my LO that much. Usually for the a.m. snack I send something breakfast-y (eggs, pancake, waffle, toast, and/or fruit), and then lunch and p.m. snack are some combination of our meat, veggies, fruit...usually including something of our leftovers from dinner the night before.

When she was younger, we sent bigger hunks of soft foods that were easier for her to grasp and nibble on. Now we send smaller pieces since her pincer has developed.

Her favorites are: slices of potatoes or sweet potatoes, pasta, meatballs, cheese, steamed broccoli, steamed carrots, and banana.

There are probably posts on this already but....after my ritz cracker post, I'm wondering if maybe I should send something to daycare for lo to munch on instead of, or as well as crackers? What are good little finger foods for 8 month olds? What travels well? At home she has had shredded chicken, shredded cheese, puffs, mum mums and chopped, steamed carrots.
