@bluestriped bee: We also do canned green beans and other beans...so black beans, cannellini beans, chick peas. Just rinse them first. The skins on the chick peas may not go over well, but they are easy to squeeze off.

I'm not a fan of other canned veggies, but frozen...omg saved my life! Frozen peas, carrots, corn, broccoli, cauliflower, squash. I still try to have something fresh on hand, but frozen really is just as good and so much easier (already cut and don't have to worry about spoiling).

DD tried ground meat (pork out of a wonton, to be exact) and she loved it. She had no problem picking it up... it stuck together enough.

My little one loves peas, broccoli, and frozen blueberries best of all. But she eats all kinds of other things. Tonight she had scallops (I cut them into smaller bits) and broccoli. She was really into the scallops.

Older sister only took 2 bites of scallops.

@simplyfelicity: sure do. I just started giving them to DD this week. I got a bag of frozen ones from Costco and the individual pieces are the size of my palm. 😳 I only have to cook 2 and I cut them really small. I cook them softer than I would if I was making them for myself. The filling squishes all out, but DD can pick it up and eat it still.

@bluestriped bee: Cottage cheese is kind of an odd thing, and it's super messy but my daughter loves it. Yogurt--fruit flavored, with fresh fruit mixed in, plain, with granola---and cheese of all sorts are also hits. She even likes bleu cheese! Tortellini, with cheese or chicken and cheese filling is a favorite.

@LindsayLou: I asked the dr if we can start giving the babies yogurt and she said yeah. She also recommended other diary. DH and I seriously looked at each other and was trying to think of other diary foods besides cubed cheese.

DH said jokingly... cheese whiz? Haha!

Dr said cottage cheese. Both DH and I don't eat cottage cheese so it didn't even cross our mind. I think I'll buy a little cup and see how I and the babies like it.

@bluestriped bee: Yeah! Some canned veggies are gross and slimy, but GBs and beets are totally fine. Corn and peas are good, too, if your LO likes them. They're just not DD's favorite. :)

@mfa_lady: Oh, canned foods! Thanks! That will help so I don't have to so much prep work. DH and I have been resorting to already prepared foods. I might have to dive in the canned foods section. Oh, I love beets! Roasted is good but I, also, like canned beets.

We did tons of sweet potato and butternut squash. Also, canned green beans and beets are DD's faves! It's easy to find organic GBs most places, too, even in store brands. (If you care about that.) Beets, not so much...but they're just so easy to buy canned and chop up for her!
