Our daycare uses time outs. I'm all for it. If my son does something to another kid, he definitely needs to know that it's not acceptable.

@Rubies: My LO is going through a biting phase and they shadow him and redirect him.

@Rubies: Our daycare doesn't really discipline for biting until they are 2 years old. Now they obviously just talk to the child (No biting, not nice, you hurt your friend) and then redirect the child.

I'm not too sure how I feel about our daycare using timeouts at this age, but when she's older I'm sure it will be necessary.

Awww, her first time out?

Our daycare only used redirection. I asked them to give DD time outs, but they didn't do that there. Redirection doesn't work for her and time outs do! I'm glad that her new preschool gives timeouts. But she hasn't had one .... yet!

LO bit another girl at daycare last week and she got a time out for it (I'm a fan of discipline and time outs). The daycare teachers love LO so much and I urge them to be stricter with her, lol. For toddlers, I'm not sure what more one does for discipline.

I'm just wondering what sort of discipline methods your daycare uses...
