@yoursilverlining: good point, I'm sure the novelty will wear off quickly once she realizes it actually takes work to pull it.

@sunny: I currently have a two-wheeled carryon in desperate need of replacing...I'm wary of spinners because I check or gate-check my carryon about 75% of the time and I've heard that the wheels fall off more often with spinners because they're so exposed. But being able to deal with both our luggage with one hand would be helpful, so maybe I should consider a spinner.

DD1 is almost 4.5. We've taken a handful of trips throughout this year (so basically since 3.5ish), and she insists on pulling our normal-sized, 2-wheel carry-on luggage by herself. As long as it's just normal weight (not packed with super heavy things!), she manages surprisingly well! We help her with escalators, but I'd imagine you'd do that with any sized suitcase.

My LO loves the spinner style. I bought her one that was the same style as mine and it is really easy to push them together (back to back) if she decides she's not into pushing it anymore.

I would get whatever is lightest and easiest for you to take on, since I find my preschooler doesn't always end up wanting to pull or deal with her suitcase (which is why I rarely let her bring it!)

My DD just turned 4 and has had the two wheel kind from PBK since Christmas. She's had no trouble pulling it behind her and thinks its a hoot because she feels like a grown up! I think either way would be fine!

Somehow, my DD has got it in her head that she needs her own suitcase before our next trip. Specifically, a rainbow one. Her birthday is coming up and PBK has one, but it comes in both spinner and two-wheeled styles and I'm not sure which would be better. I'm thinking spinner so she can push it rather than pull, but I can't find reviews or anything that would help me decide.
