I had this idea in my head that they were these fragile, limp little beings... but my daughter had such head control and strength from day one. That really surprised me... actually I'm still unclear as to whether my expectations were just off, or LO was an independent girlie early on, hah!</p> <p>@MsMini: I feel you. I can't say I expected a troubled child, but I never expected a baby that NEVER cries (unless he's tired, which then is usually my fault). He is SO happy all the time, and if not necessarily happy, just so content, mellow and totally chill. He's so great. Everyone comments about it - even complete strangers in the store.</p> <p>Also I wasn't necessarily surprised per se as much as disappointed that he was nearly bald, and still has next to no hair. DH and I both have fathers with darker skin, but because of our Mom's we are a lighter.
