@mamamoose, exactly! seems like such a tease!

Preschool, I get...your kid can understand that "mommy's here for lunch". But i wouldn't dare mess with my 8 month old's routine by making her think noon is actually 4pm lol. She would be so confused!

@blackbird: Yeah our school did a lunch event once and there was no way that would work. My daughter would FREAK if I came to school, and then left without her. Like seriously FREAK.

Family events scheduled during the day....at daycare.....seems kind of funny to me.

Ours doesn't do anything since it's an in-home, though. I never even considered it! And I wouldn't leave work, drive 30 min to daycare (aka basically back home) for a lunch event, then drive all the way back to work.

@mediagirl: Ah, her dinner is usually at 5:45 (earlier if possible) and bath and bed by 7 or 7:30.

DH is going to stay home with the baby since she is sick so I'll take video for him.

I remember they had one night event for Thanksgiving. It was a 6 pm dinner. So we didn't attend the first year, but we did the second when she was 18 months old. I felt like she could handle the later bedtime at that point and she did great! Otherwise, they usually have events earlier in the day.

@autumnlove: M would be a freaking PILL if we kept her up that late and made her wait for dinner. :) I think it's different for us b/c ours is 15 minutes from home, dinnertime is 5:30 and bedtime is 6:30!!

@mediagirl: well, she goes to daycare PT this month and is at home today with DH so it isn't that inconvenient. But it would stink on a regular day...daycare is open til 6 so we would prob just eat after the show? Or maybe i would get there early and feed her dinner? Ahhhh!

@autumnlove: wait, 6pm!?!?! What the what...that's ridiculous! I can see getting working parents there but that's after bedtime. Do they expect you will come, get your kid, take them home, feed them dinner and bring them back? I'm so confused.

I have no idea. The teachers are very vague about when they give the kids the treats that they are giving for the "party" they are having for the 1-2 year old group. ps...sorry for the grumpy comment, I hate my lo's daycare.

Usually 3pm. So I either miss the party or miss work. I would MUCH rather push bedtime back a bit one night than have to miss work to come to the event. I always want to say "it's nice you throw these parties and all but my kid is in daycare BECAUSE I WORK FULL TIME!"

Santa is coming to visit the kiddos at 10am. I should inquire if parents are allowed at these things because the director never told me if parents are welcome or not...

They are usually during the day so I usually miss them because of work.

I think daycare decided to mix things up and the Christmas show is tonight at 6-6:45. I saw a lot of angry comments on the sign up sheets about bedtimes...Eeek!
