You are so sweet! Definitely bring some things to entertain yourself and dress comfortably. It might take a while! As far as things to bring for mama...maybe spare hair ties and bobby pins? Some snacks for the dad since mama likely will not be able to eat anything.

Does she have a fovorite tv series or movie? Card game? I know that my induction/labor lasted 40 hours and I was glad to have something to do. We played cards for a while. I also second the snacks. They didn't let me eat for nearly 20 hours and I was starving afterwards.

@anonysquire: don't worry about that stuff, the nurses will take care of that.
I would have LOOOOVED something to drink, like seltzer, etc. The hospital beverages were tiny and I wanted to drink a gallon of Perrier after DS was born. And snacks. The meals were great but I would've loved some snacks like honey mustard pretzels..

ETA - & a large recyclable tote bag. I had so much stuff to bring home and nothing to carry it in :)

@babyjmama: i was actually thinking about bringing all the colace, tucks pads, pads, breast pads and other stuff but I think my sister would be uncomfortable. I'll totally offer to go get the stuff though!

@anonysquire: OH and actually, this is something for after they go home, but we came home to a clean house and food in the crock pot hot and ready. Also there was a veggie tray and some muffins for a good grab and go snack/breakfast. Maybe your parents could help out with that too?

Also, I was given a list of things to get from the store (hibiclens, colace, pain pill prescriptions, phone book sized pads, etc) when we were discharged but the LAST thing I wanted to do was take J to the store or have DH leave us to go to the store, maybe you could offer to go to the store for them, if you're comfortable with that? Just a thought :)

@artbee: definitely bringing my iPad and a book. I don't care if I have to sleep in the waiting room, i work at the hospital so I should be good,

@babyjmama: Good idea for the meal after baby. I really am so excited I can hardly stand it. Me and my mom both are constantly checking our phones for the text or call! My parents will be in the room when she has the baby and I'll be in the waiting room :)

Yeah, make sure you've got a good book or something, my induction went "fast" at 12 hours. She won't be allowed to eat and while I brought a book I didn't read more than a chapter because my contractions got stronger and I couldn't concentrate (come to think of it, I still haven't finished that book, 7 months later...).

She will be HUNGRY after she delivers, ask her what she wants (after delivery, before she'll still be in "I'm preggo mode"). I wanted starbucks like there was no tomorrow. I think I had 3 ventis :)

I love how excited you are! This is so thoughtful!!!

Ahhhhhhhh! I'm going to be an aunt sometime between now and Wednesday. I am over the moon!!! Ok so what can I bring my sister when she is in the hospital? I already have the cutest outfit and can be on standby for any errands they need or food or treats or Anythng, but what do I bring? I'm so nervous! I keep thinking I need to pack my own hospital bag (even though I know I'm going to be in the waiting room for quite awhile).
