@changingtides: LO went through a phase around that age of taking off her diaper in the morning. We solved it by throwing a cloth cover with snaps over her disposable until she eventually lost interest. I agree about going back to diapers but thought it might help to think about how to keep them on!

Thanks ladies! That's what I've been thinking. Just taking a break from the undies completely, even though she loves 'em. Hopefully she'll keep her diaper on! Then we'll try again later

I would put her back in diapers. She doesn't sound ready.

I agree with @JoyfulKiwi: I would make a big deal how panties are for big girls who use the potty. If it were me I would put her back in diapers.

I'd say pick one thing and stick with it. If you think she really is ready to use the toilet full time, pick underwear and deal with the accidents. If you think she's not actually ready and just interested in the potty, go back to diapers and use methods to keep them on (like being backwards, etc). If it were me, I'd go back to diapers and explain that underwear is only for kids who try to use the potty, not for kids who go potty on the floor. Of course, she'll likely not be happy about it, but I think it'd be easier in the long run to set a boundary and stick to it.

DD will be 2 in a few weeks. She's fought diaper changes for a loooong time already, but now most of the time is refusing to wear them and is taking them off. She wants to wear panties which is great, but she won't use the potty and will just go in her underwear/on the floor. Actually, sometimes she does go in her potty and she's gone through periods of doing pretty well with it, especially with pooping (surprisingly). But lately she won't go pee in her potty. We'll have just asked her or told her to use the potty, she'll say no, and like a minute later she'll go in her underwear (or on the floor if she's got no bottoms on), or she'll be standing right next to it and go in her underwear/on the floor. Just not sure what to do if she's refusing to wear a diaper and to use the potty. Any ideas?
