Check with your airline, some have weight limits for strollers, which may make the decision for you.

@brady80: yes, you can check car seats and strollers with your luggage so you don't have to lug them through the airport. They don't count towards your checked bag limit, either, or cost any extra for airlines that charge for checked bags :)

@Foodnerd81: I agree that the UBV will be a pain. I don't think I can buy another stroller- we already have 3!! We have the maxi cosi mico and I read that they don't work with the snap and go's. Maybe I'll see if I can borrow a friends? Is it possible to check the car seat with our luggage so we aren't carting it through security? Then we could bring the umbrella stroller

How much walking will you be doing while you are there? I wouldn't want to deal with my ubv in the airport, through security, gate checking. We just flew and brought the car seat and snap and go, gate checked them both. You can buy a snap and go used on Craigslist for a third of the cost of the ubv bag. So, if you aren't going to be walking a ton I think that would be the easiest. Otherwise I guess check the car seat at the desk and gate check the stroller.

We gate checked the carseat and snap n go, which worked really well. I think carrying the seat thru the airport might be a pain (literally).

we are flying to puerto rico next month. LO will be 7 months. we're flying non-stop and renting a car when we arrive. We are bringing our carseat which attaches to our UBV. My husband thinks we should bring our umbrella stroller, but then do we carry the carseat through the airport? I think we should bring the UBV, buy the travel bag and gate check. Any thoughts or advice?
