We dealt with the same thing, we moved her right outside our bedroom door (with bedroom door open) in her rock n play from 6-8 weeks (I wasn't ready to have her in a separate room, but this helped eliminate the loud sleeping keeping us awake) and then transitioned her into her crib in her room at 8 weeks.

Mr. Noisy slept in his own room last night and I slept so much better! He still woke up twice to eat but I got some good sleep between feedings without the crazy night grunter laying 1 foot away. Thank you ladies for the advice and encouragement!

I would move him into his own room and leave your door open.

We moved DD to her own room at 3 days home because she was SO LOUD. :silly:

We are also next door and don't use the noise function on our monitor - I can hear her *plenty* well when she wants to be awake.

Move him into his room! Everyone will sleep better. He could be moving around more cause he hears you as well as you hearing him.

Sounds like putting him in his own room is the thing to do! He does some of his daytime naps in the crib and at this age he shouldn't have too much trouble with the transition right?

Yea, we had to move him out because of the noise too. We couldn't sleep in fear of waking him, and we couldn't sleep because he was noisy as heck and kept us up.

Like others, we transitioned to his crib and adjusted our monitor accordingly so we could only hear if he cried or made a substantial amount of noise.

We moved LO into her room because of the noise...I couldn't take it anymore. Our audio monitor has a sensitivity setting that you can adjust, so we make it to where we don't hear anything (we can't even hear her white noise machine) unless she's crying/making a significant amount of noise.

I'd put him in his room with a monitor. In fact, I did just that because of the same reason. Now, all the wiggling doesn't wake me up. I just wake when I hear the beginnings of a real "feed me" fuss. Sometimes I even sleep through that, and DH has to nudge me, lol.

I would transition him to his own room. You'll get better sleep that way. We kept the volume on the monitor down low enough to not hear LO's crazy noises but high enough to hear her fussing.

I would move him to his own room and just leave your bedroom doors open with the monitor off. We did that, and I still heard LO just fine. We have a video monitor, so I would click it on if I heard her to see what the deal was.

DS is 8 weeks old and is incredibly noisy in the night - grunting, gurgling, snorting, fussing. He does this while he is asleep but he also wakes up and wiggles around and makes lots of noise. It only escalates to crying once or twice a night at which point I feed him, otherwise I try to wait him out and see if he'll fall back to sleep or get back to a deeper sleep state on his own. In the meantime however he is keeping DH and I awake. He is currently swaddled in a bassinet with white noise
in our room.

So what I'm asking is should I transition him to his own room? If I do won't all these crazy noises come through the monitor and keep us awake anyway? Or not use the monitor - his room is next to ours - and hope I hear his hungry cries? Is there something else I can do to help him spell more deeply? Am I doing the wrong thing by not actively helping him fall back to sleep?

Thanks from a sleep deprived FTM!
