We actually were only debating between the museum (DH's choice) or aquarium (mine) but wanted to throw out some other things to see if they actually were the best two.<br /> @Mrs. Lion: We are planning to go on a weekday so I'm hoping it won't be too crowded.<br /> @jhd: we could probably take the train anyway :happy:<br /> @Foodnerd81: DH is leaning towards the museum because he thinks it will be more fun. We have been to other children's museums and they had a blast. Not worried about the cost because with our library passes there is only a $2 difference for all of us. I've been to both (in boston) many times with my two year old. My LO has more fun at the museum- even though a lot is meant for older kids there is still a lot for a 2 yo to do, and they can pretty much do whatever they want, you don't have to keep saying no to climbing and whatever else. There are enough restaurants in the area for lunch as well. </p> <p>My LO also likes the aquarium a lot but I find myself having to rein her in a lot more- you can't climb on that, don't run there. We were going to have a small grandparent party and then bring him somewhere but the place is not going to be open so back the drawing board! </p> <p>What do you think would be the best option - in or around Boston in early May? </p> <p>1. Zoo (we have membership and go quite often to our local zoo but we can go to the much larger one in the city instead)<br /> 2. Children's museum<br /> 3. Aquarium<br /> 4. Daytrip around the city (take train to/from, ride swan boats or duck boats, see all the big buildings and food trucks, etc.)<br /> 5. Birthday party at home with friends</p> <p>Older brother will obviously be going with us and he is 3.5. We have never taken either of them to the museum or aquarium and they've never ridden the train into the city but have been on a train ride before. We have been to the zoo and walked around the city several times. We will still have a small grandparent party regardless and if we invited friends it would just be a small group that we see all the time.<br /> Now that I've written a book, which option would you choose or do you have a better suggestion? </p>
