If your lo hates the wash cloth cause of wet factor try a sock filled with rice and microwaved for 20-30 seconds. It's a nice dry heat and holds heat for longer.

The only thing that seemed to work for us was the warm compress. I'd massage the tear duct with it, and it seemed to help!

Thanks ladies. No more breastmilk here, but I'll keep trying the warm washcloth.

LO has one blocked tear duct and I feel like I have tried everything... we clean it numerous times a day, warm water or saline or eye specific wipes.. we've tried breastmilk with no luck ;-( We are off to the drs tomorrow because the discharge has turned yellow/green so I think its infected :-( Someone suggested a massage that you do that opens it up, but I don't know how to do it. Goodluck and hope it clears up for you soon!

One morning lo woke up with her eye gunked shut and I knew it was a clogged tear duct. I read on here to put some
Breastmilk on it. I called my ped's office and they had never heard it, but I did it and it cleared up by that afternoon.

One of LO's eyes is watery and sometimes a little goopy(clear goop). Everything I've seen says a warm compress, but at 14 months old, he fights that to no end. Anyone have any different ideas or tips?
