Same w my practice, there are four docs and they want you to see everyone at least once before your due date. Honestly, I don't think it's worth changing primaries. I hardly saw my primary towards the end due to scheduling issues, and another doc ended up delivering my baby anyways.

Hmmm...I guess it depends on the practice, but at my OB, there are 4 doctors and they want your to rotate so you meet them all (and therefore, whoever might be delivering you). I have scheduled my appts thus far with whoever is working when it fits my schedule, so I've had two appts with one doctor, one with a different one, and my next one is with a third.

So you could schedule based on a particular day/time that your doctor doesn't work? Just call and say you need an appointment and ask when your doctor is working the week you need. Then, when they tell you, "remember" that you have something important at work and then get one of the other days with the other doctors.

How long have you been seeing this one? I can't really imagine she would take it too personally, it must happen a lot, but I know it is kind of awkward.

I see a midwife practice and had seen one I liked for a routine gyn visit, then the first available for my first appt was someone else, so I saw her, also liked her but she went out on mat leave after that. Then I saw, again, the one with the best availability for my schedule, and didn't click with that one as well, so for my next appt I went back to the very first one that I had liked. I felt a little bit funny requesting the change, but I had only seen each of them once so I didn't feel like I HAD to stick with one. Same as you, whoever is on call will actually deliver.

The OBGYN clinic that I have been going to has 5 doctors. I was seeing the nurse practitioner before I got pregnant and loved her. I was given appt with first available OBGYN when I got pregnant, which appt setter said I'd love her.

She has been great on the attentive side of going extra miles to bring me in for checkups and ultrasounds leading up to my miscarriage. Yet overall besides that I don't think our personalities jive 100%. She comes off a bit lecture-y and I usually can't get all my questions out bc of it.

I would like to try a different doctor next time as primary, but after 24 weeks you rotate between doctors and then whoever is on call delivers.

Would it cause bad blood if I tried to switch doctors at the same clinic since I might end up with her delivering and would def have some appts with her still?
