When she was under 1 we didn't do anything bc she was too little for meds. The next summer when she was around 20 months we gave her Claritin on bad days. Now that she's 2.5 she gets Claritin daily during allergy season

Our doctor said there was little to do before 2, so I make sure to use nasal spray when she sounds stuffy and keep our windows shut. I suffer too, so the "fresh air" in the house doesn't last long before it causes us suffering!

Allergens are always high here so LO gets a daily dose of Claritin. Zyrtec doesn't work as well for her.

I've been wondering about this too. DS turned two in January and has been really suffering (right along with me) this season. We had a big flux in the temperature and everything yesterday and poor buddy was just looking like death warmed over. Maybe I should talk to my pediatrician...

I think Wagon Jr., has them too.. He's been complaining of a sore throat and his nose is constantly running, and he's always got phlegm in his throat! We tried children's zyrtec and it didn't seem to do much.. We'll have to try something else.

If your LO is older than 2 yes I would do Children's Claritin or Zyrtec

My DS is on Claritin every spring for about 6 weeks

D geta zyrtec at night before bed. If I let it get too bad otherwise, he gets an ear infection.

Everything bloomed in the last week or two and I think some allergies are hitting the kids. Sneezing, runny nose, red eyes, tiredness, crankiness ...

Do kids go on allergy meds or do you ride it out, depending on the severity?
