One of my friends was having lots of back pain from this problem, her son just wanted to "walk" with her holding his hands all the time. She finally got him a walker and is doing much better. I'm sure it'll pass once he figures out how to do more on his own, but hopefully the vtech walker will help!

Dd never needed help, she just went from not doing it to doing it on her own. There was maybe a week of not getting it where I'd just stick her standing up but she didn't get mad when I didn't help... All I can say is I really don't think this will last long, hang in there!

Oh gosh, DS is like this right now. He also wants to walk holding our hands. My back is killing me! I hope it passes soon.

@Weagle: A week! That sounds promising! We just moved, so his crib isnt reassembled yet. Will get daddy on that ASAP

@MamaJ: More reason to assemble our crib!

@hilsy85: @MamaMoose: Glad to know it won't be long till it's over!

@coastmama: We only have hardwood in our dining room (but I bought a walker without thinking about that) I will try him in there, thanks!

@mrskc: We have plenty of boxes!!!! Will find one for him to use! Perhaps one labeled baby #2 - I doubt we will be upacking those for a while.

Just like all things with babies this too shall pass. I remember this phase being a little annoying though because he constantly wanted to be pulling up but hadn't mastered it yet. I would have to hover all the time. I would put a box near him and let him practice pulling up on it.

We are going through this now too, so I put him in his walker and try to get some work done in the kitchen (the only place with hard floors. He follows me around happily.

We went through this too but it really didn't last long before she was able to pull herself up and then she just cruised happily all day.

Yup it's a phase...my LO was like that before he learned to crawl. Maybe help him practice pulling up on stuff?

My DS can pull himself up but not all the time. Sometimes I just stand him up and let him hold on to the table. Then when he falls he tries again and sometimes gets it. Sometimes I just do it for him if I have to get something done! Lol. He also learned in the crib first so I put some toys in there and he practices pulling up and if he falls he just starts playing with the toys.

It's a phase! It probably won't be too long before he figures it out himself. I would be surprised if he doesn't have it figured out within a week. My LO figured it out in her crib first. Maybe do some playtime in there?

B has just started pulling up (by holding onto one of us) but isn't able to do it on his own. He also started crawling in the past month.

For the past week, ALL he wants to do is stand up/be pulled up.
He cant pull up on his own yet and just gets frustrated if you don't help him.
As much as I want to just sit on the floor all day and be his standing support, I need to unpack from the move!
He seems to hate the exersaucer now (is it time to retire it at 8 months?)
I ordered the Vtech sit to stand walker from amazon hoping it will help.
Please tell me it gets better!!!
Are there any other toys that may help him?
How long till he will be able to pull up on his own?

ARGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGGHHHH!
I thought @runningelley posted on this but I searched and couldnt find it!
