A lo I used to watch insisted that the best way to do it was chin to chest and have me pour water over her that way. I have tried it on myself too and it wheeled worked but they have to be on board with it. My main preference though I'd just s handheld shower head, we start with "checking the temperature" on their backs then do the ends of their hair and gradually move up. It usually works well. The teapot trick is awesome though I will keep it in my arsenal.

This cracked me up! :) Lucy used to freak out if the teensiest bit of water got on her face (I was always so careful bathing her that none ever did). After my husband got home from deployment and took over bath time, he started pouring a cup of water over her head/face. She used to hate it but now she opens her mouth and laughs. Worked out! :)

The only thing that helped us was teaching her how to lay in her back. Once to get it wet and once to rinse. She loves it.

Haha. We tried everything.. The cup with flexible edge, a toy watering can, a toy teapot, small plastic cup... Our best shot is to just use the showerhead to make it end as quickly as possible! Some nights they scream and some nights they don't!

We have the garanimals shampoo rinse cup. One edge flexes against the head so you can control where the water goes.

78H20 had a great phrase: "baby waterboarding." That's totally what Charlie thinks I'm doing when I try to rinse his shampoo out in the tub!! His squirming creates a self-fulfilling prophecy, as I end up actually waterboarding him a little bit almost every time!

I tried all the tricks people mentioned on the boards over the years: having Charlie tilt his head back, getting in the tub to hold him on my lap, wrapping him up with a towel like a little burrito so he doesn't squirm... but none of them worked! (Swimming goggles were a no-go too.)

Then one day, I randomly used a small tea kettle to pour the water... and found that it slowed the flow of water so much, that it pretty much never got in his eyes... even if he squirmed like crazy! Once he figured that out, then he totally relaxed and shampoos since then have been a breeze!

Just wish I had figured that one out before the whole baby waterboarding experience had gone on for almost 3 years!!
