At that age, I started letting him cry before naps for however long it took for him to fall asleep. I always nursed before and knew his needs were met so I had a high tolerance for crying!

But a car ride always does the trick on this end ;)

If try putting him down a little earlier. At that age my daughter would do that if she was over-stimulated/over-tired. If that didn't work, sometimes I could get her to nap by wearing her or putting her in the swing.

My son has always been a great napper, but he's gone through several sleep regressions since birth. We've always used either a swing (when he was really little), or the car. If that's not an option, you can always walk around with the stroller too!

I would stroll him around or take a car ride. Car rides never fail!

DS is 8 months old and has always been a horrible napper. The past week or so he just will.not.nap. I put him in his crib and he just cries and cries or rolls around talking to himself. He's super tired because he keeps rubbing his eyes and is cranky but refuses to sleep.

FWIW at bedtime I can put him down and he'll go to sleep on his own 95% of the time. He still wakes up 1-2x nightly.
