At that age my daughter would do that if she was over-stimulated/over-tired. We've always used either a swing (when he was really little), or the car. The past week or so he just will.not.nap. I put him in his crib and he just cries and cries or rolls around talking to himself. He's super tired because he keeps rubbing his eyes and is cranky but refuses to sleep.</p> <p>FWIW at bedtime I can put him down and he'll go to sleep on his own 95% of the time. He still wakes up 1-2x nightly. </p>
