Update:
We went to Ikea on Sunday and put LO in the cart. She didn't do well being upright (chubby legs got caught) but did really well lying down in the top part. We put her blanket down and she relaxed there, happy as could be. She fed herself her bottle that way and got so much attention from people. I'm going to try it again at Costco today. Oh, and her daycare mama offered us a cart cover that she'll give us later this week.

I used the padded shopping cart cover and would put my reusable grocery bags under the cover on either side of M to prop her up a little. Just for a few weeks until she was more sturdy on her own.

I got a padded shopping cart cover and would strap him in until he got tired and floppy, then I would lay him down lengthwise in the cart seat with a blanket under his head.

I wear L- today at the store everyone went nuts over him. I guess it's not that common in our area to baby wear in public?

@runsyellowlites: I did that too!

Or, the shopping cart cover + using the seatbelt. Even now I use it because lo will move around so much...she just gets really curious about everything.

@Andrea: lol. DH wouldn't go for the delivery thing. I'm thinking that I'll try wearing her, and if it doesn't fly, maybe I'll get one of those padded inserts that people put in carts. That with a blankie if needed, ought to work.

@MaisyMay: or if you really need to bring her grocery shopping and she doesn't like the carrier, just keep on using the infant seat but only for grocery shopping? or ... get groceries delivered if that is available in your area. i keep meaning to do that. :-)

@runsyellowlites: @Andrea: @MungBean: She's not normally a fan, but I tried on Thursday and didn't complain too much while we were at the farmer's market. I'll have to try it at the store. Thanks for the idea.

I would also wear her. It doesn't really seem like there is another option! I wouldn't feel comfortable trying to prop LO up in the front of the carriage if she isn't 100% stable yet.

LO is about to be transitioned to her convertible car seats because of how heavy she is in the infant one. I already transitioned her at day care and her day care mama says LO loves it! She sits up higher and hasn't fussed at all whereas before she fussed when daycare mama put her in the car.

LO can't hold herself up all the way yet, so what am I supposed to do when I take her to the store? She's only 5 months old. Where do I put her in the cart/how do I stabilize her? Currently she just chills in her car seat, but that won't be an option when she's in the convertible seats.
