I would definitely paint the back wall a fun color or pattern for some interest. Paint the room and maybe consider removing the fireplace. Maybe in the nook next to the fireplace a big basket filled with cozy blankets, potentially a shelf that could hold books or DVDs or framed pictures or photo albums.</p> <p>If you could do doors on the bottom two nooks it would give you closed storage for extra media "stuff". Maybe frosted glass? My husband is going to find some shelves to put on either side of the tv to put the receiver, DVD player, etc. on. However, we're not sure what to do with the other holes. The fireplace isn't centered, which makes the whole wall look off to me. We were thinking about putting in shelves in the spaces on the bottom left and right sides to make bookcases.
