I just did brunch for my sprinkle a few weeks ago: bagels (sliced in half by the bakery) with cream cheese, lox, onion, tomato, and capers, mini frozen quiche (took 10 mins to heat right before), donut holes, mini muffins, fruit, and I got some special things from one of my favorite bakeries - cheese rolls and potato balls (meat inside). It was cheap and easy and everyone seemed happy! We also put out some OJ, champagne, coffee, and water.

@lamariniere: Well you recommended that strata to me, LOL. And i just love cinnamon rolls. Who doesn't? They're so fluffy and easy to make (or buy). And certainly something you don't get often!

@lamariniere: i always make that plus her boozy baked french toast. So easy! I also use the Alton Brown cinnamon bun recipe she adapted for her morning buns (the ones with cranberries).

I love hosting brunch! I make anything that can be done beforehand:
- strata
- cinnamon buns
- baked french toast
- assortment of fruit
- mini yogurts
- sausages (i'll usually cook the morning of and then keep in the warming drawer)

@matador84: We did a waffle bar - I made all the waffles the night before and just reheated them in the oven and had a ton of different toppings + coffee, apple cider, and scrambled eggs. It worked out really nicely, and was very little prep the morning of.

Strata or an egg casserole
Muffins or banana bread
donut holes
fruit
ham and cheese sliders (I love these - http://www.jasonandshawnda.com/foodiebride/archives/10482)
I usually do a champagne and juice bar because I don't really like mimosas, but I do like bellinis.

We had a brunch for my daughter's birthday, and it was such a hit, we're doing it again for her bday this year, too!

- chicken strips (cut up)
- tator tots
- donut holes
- biscuits and gravy (gravy also worked well for the chicken strips)
- pigs in a blanket
- blueberry pancake muffins (easy batter mix just poured into mini muffin tins and then baked)
....and mimosas, of course :)
- fruit (already pre-cut)

-bagels and lox
-fruit salad
-a selection of quiches
-veggie tray
-mimosas, coffee, tea, etc
-pumpkin cake

There were about 25 people there, and it seemed to go over ok!

I love a good brunch. We did Christmas Day brunch at our house this year, we served:

Smithfield style country ham, from Costco: delicious, I will buy again
Buiscuits: I took the easy way out here and used premade ones
Custard Pear tart: I like something sweet
Vanilla bundt cake
Fruit salad
Mini bagels with lox and all the fixings
Egg strata
Assorted cheese tray
OJ, tomato juice, apricot juice, champange

I would make a breakfast casserole the night before with eggs, potatoes, meat, and cheese. You could do one with bacon and one with sausage or ham. Then bake it the morning of! Serve with a fruit platter, and pastries like muffins/bagels. Mimosas for adults and juice boxes for the kids!

Thanks!
