@anonysquire: You can probably get rid of the diapers and wipes (they provided us with those and sent us home with some). I doubt you'll need a wrap, bib, swaddler or burp cloth (they will provide lots of towels and blankets). I would focus on your stuff (comfy clothes, toiletry items, etc) If you have a favorite pillow you like to sleep with, bring that.

I had a c-section hospital birth and here are the things we used:

Baby:
- Clothing (the hospital was full skin contact so no clothes were provided, only flannel receiving blankets)
- Nail clippers
- Mittens/socks for hands (her nails were ridiculous)
- Baby book for footprints (ours are on a seperate piece of paper because her prints were done in the nursery while I was in recovery)

Me:
- Comfortable clothes (summer birth so I had maxi dresses and yoga pants)
- Nursing bra
- Chapstick
- Water bottle (I didn't bring one, and the hospital DID provide one)
- snacks (high fiber for PP BM)
- phone charger
- camera
- toiletries
- pillow

I never did my hair while in the hospital as I didn't have a hair dryer (for some reason I expected one to be there). I never touched the laptop. The cell service and wi-fi were both horrible in our hospital.

We didn't take and diapers or wipes with us as they were provided by the hospital.

The one thing I regretted was that we bought 0-3 month clothes but LO was so small that he was swimming in it so we wished we bought some "newborn" clothes which we ended up buying the first week of his life.

Dang you ladies pack a TON of stuff!

Our hospital provided everything for baby - diapers, wipes, onesie ... So all I'm packing for #2 is a going home outfit and a swaddle blanket

For me: robe, toiletries, flip flops, nightgown, going home outfit.
For DH: 1 pair pjs, toiletries, change of clothes
Other: phone chargers, camera

We only stayed for 24 hours with DD so we didnt use HALF the stuff we packed. Also this time we are close enough to home where DH can go back if we need more or have to stay longer. Plus, the less I pack, the less I have to unpack :)

You probably won't need the bibs.

We ended up in the hospital for a while, I had a super long labor. I felt like we had too much crap with us. I was in a high-risk labor room, then the delivery room, then the OR, then a recovery room, and then a private recovery room. Moving the bags around was such a pain in the ass.
DH in an effort to be helpful took stuff home, but always seemed to take the things I needed. I ended up leaving the hospital in January in Canada without my winter coat.
I'd pare down enough that you aren't moving too much stuff around but enough so that you are prepared.

My list:
For mama:
yoga pants
robe
slippers
nursing tank
granny panties
warm socks
chapstick
hair tie
glass/contacts/solution
face wipes
chargers/phone/camera
iPad
nipple ointment
Toothbrush/Paste
Shampoo/Conditioner
makeup (didn't use this but wish I did cause I look horrible in every pp hospital photo lol)

For baby:
size 1 diapers (15)
wipes (small pack)
going home outfit
hat

To Keep in Car:
Boppy
Blankets/Pillow
Clothes for DH

Not sure what your birth center provides in the way of postpartum care, but you will need lots of giant pads and maybe even some depends for the time at your parents house. Will they give you a peri bottle? You will want one of those, too. Make sure your parents have ibuprofen around. A big water bottle.
I used my ipad a lot early on. Snacks are good, and comfy maternity clothes, nursing tanks are great for this time.

I'll post a list of what's in mine:

Robe
Fuzzy non slip socks
2 pairs of pajama pants
2 loose fitting t shirts
One pair of yoga pants (going home)
One fitted (but still comfy) tshirt (going home)
Breast pads
All travel size toiletries I need to shower
Flip flops for showering
Large undies (8 pairs I think. Lol)
2 nursing bras
Hair dryer
Contact case and solution
One change of comfy clothes for DH for sleeping (we live close to the hospital so he will do all his showers and changes at home)
Blanket to go over the car seat when we take LO home (it'll be cold!)
Three different baby boy outfits to come home in in different sizes. Newborn, 0-3, and 3 months.
My nursing pillow.
4 copies of my birth plan.
Cell phones, ipad, and chargers will be grabbed as we leave.

I'm not taking a diaper bag or extra clothes for LO for the hospital stay. I plan on using the hospitals stuff while we are there. But I will post what's in mine since you need yours:

About 10 diapers
Trial size pack of wipes
Regular size pack of wipes
First aid kit
Safety/grooming kit
2 receiving blankets
Breast pads
Butt cream
Baby powder and lotion (small bottles)
And two little bottles of baby soap and shampoo because I had no where else to put them. Lol

LO isn't here yet so bottles, pacifiers, toys, books and outfits (once I know how big he is) will come later.

A pillow and blanket from home
Cell phone, camera & laptop charger
A garbage bag to take home your dirty clothes (I bled thru mine!)
Hair ties
Flip flops (to walk the halls AND to shower in)
Toiletries (my hospital didn't provide toothpaste, and I did shower 2x while there.. I bought travel size from target!)

Haven't been there done that yet, but just a thought. Pack your hospital bag as if you're going into hospital for a couple of days - my idea being that it will act as prevention (kind of like if you carry an umbrella it won't rain, the day you forget it it rains cats and dogs...).

I mean you never know what might happen, baby's don't always arrive the way we plan, and that way you'll be comfortable that you have everything you and they need, and almost guaranteed you won't actually need it ;)

I don't know what your birth center does but ours provided diapers, wipes and cream.

Things I found absolutely necessary at the hospital (for myself):

CHAPSTICK
Hair ties
Headband...hair in the face gets super annoying during labor
Phone charger
Camera
Socks/slipper
Yoga pants (my LO was born in the late summer, so this and nursing tanks was what I wore).
Spare pillow/blanket for both your and your DH. Mine actually brought a sleeping bag.
Snacks, for you (if you can/want to eat) and for your DH.
Bottled water.

I might have asked this before. I can't remember and am too lazy to search. I am trying to figure out what to pack in the baby's diaper bag and what to pack in my hospital bag. As of now I will be going to my parents house for like a week right after birth so I guess I will need to pack a suitcase also? Anyways this is what I have packed so far. Oh and for my hospital bag, I will only be at the birthing center for 4 hours after birth, but I assume I will be there for ages laboring. So not sure what to pack!!

Diaper bag:
both gender going home outfits
10 diapers
wipes
breast pads
diaper cream
wrap
bibs
burp cloths
swaddlers

My bag:
pajamas
robe

Yikes! What else do I need?
