I don't use anything fancy to make either kind. I even just use a fork rather than an official board. It takes time, but it's not really hard. :)

@LuLu Mom: Not crock pot, just boil for less than 10 minutes.
@Mrs. Twine: I buy it premade and then add my own sauce and additions. I would like to try making my own pasta but I am intimidated by it and don't have an appliance to help me.

@MaisyMay: Do you make your own gnocchi? I love it, but it is too intensive to do very often. I also have a recipe for "drop" style gnocchi, which is easier, but I still don't do it much because you have to break out the pastry bags and all that. Your idea sounds yummy!

@MaisyMay: I can honestly say I've never had gnocchi, but it it's easy in the crockpot go for it!

@MaisyMay: I love gnocchi but I think of it as cold weather food!

pasta is always a good choice!! Does everyone like sausage and/or gnocchi?

I do love this pulled pork recipe though:

http://www.realsimple.com/food-recipes/browse-all-recipes/pulled-pork-sandwiches-00100000074147/

(we don't eat them open face but we do eat the slaw and pickled onions with them)

@shinymama: @LuLu Mom: @looch: What do you guys think of gnocchi with sausage in a tomato sauce? Garlic bread and mixed veggies on the side? That should be pretty easy. :)

I loved this crockpot pulled pork taquitos recipe, but if you want to avoid the oven, just serve them regular taco style. Add rice or a salad, and you're done!

What about pulled BBQ pork for sandwiches in the crockpot? Easy and good for a warm day! Then you could make a pasta salad/potato salad side the day before! no hassle at all!

I would use the crockpot, it's going to heat the house up less than using the oven!

Do you have a grill you could use?

Saturday DH's parents and grandma are meeting me at a harvest carnival and then coming over to our house for dinner. The days before the carnival I am making a ton of cookies and cupcakes, so I'm not going to want to cook much Saturday. And money is way too tight for us to take all 5 of us and LO out to eat. (they treat when we eat out visiting them, we pick up the tab when we eat out when they visit us).

Any suggestions on what to have for dinner? Weather is supposed to be around 83, so as much as I'd love to use our crockpot, it's going to be pretty warm in our apartment already.
