@cam: No, I was actually putting a regular diaper and an overnight diaper on him. He seemed confused.

I just ordered the doublers, hope they will help! Thanks!

Target Up and Up overnight "underwear." They're like super absorbent pull ups.

Those doublers are awesome! We used those and huggies overnights forever. Then we switched to pampers cruisers and they were actually more absorbent. (In case anyone doesn't know pampers cruisers are pampers MOST absorbent diaper- more so than extra protection. I've done A LOT of research.) Then we went to pullups overnights (which are very absorbent) and when he outgrew them (around 4.25 yrs) he wears goodnights. He's five now and those still work. I'd say he still wets through something at least once a week and he will go through periods where he consistently wets through every night for a week.. He pees A LOT and these are my personally tried and true recommendations.

Also, make sure he's pointed down. We've had periods where wetting increases because he's adjusted himself in his diaper and pees up and out.

You could try a disposable doubler. I haven't used them but they would probably help http://www.amazon.com/Select-Kids-Booster-Diaper-Doubler/dp/B00839749A

ETA: unless that's what you meant by double diapering

My son is a very heavy wetter overnight. He's almost 2 and big for his age. He is currently in size 6 Huggies Overnites and waking up wet most mornings. I tried double-diapering since that is what my parents did with me, but he seemed a little uncomfortable. Is there another good overnight diaper that comes in a bigger size?
