I live about a 1/2 hour from Cambridge, England. So there's Kings College, Cambridge University, etc. I also only live about 70 miles from London, so Buckingham Palace, the London Eye, Tower of London, Parliament, Big Ben, the Thames, museums, etc. Also close by are the Sandringham Estate, and Ely Cathedral.</p> <p>If you go into the 2 hour range, you can see Dover, Stonehenge, Bath, etc. England is pretty small. The Art Museum (and Rocky steps, of course), Independence Hall, the Liberty Bell, Betsy Ross House...all that good old stuff. Hubs and I took a day off work a couple years ago to play tourist and had so much fun. We hadn't done all the touristy historical stuff since we came to Philly on a field trip in elementary school. We're also super close to the Philly Zoo, which is always a fun time. The Texas gulf coast is hardly a huge tourist attraction, but locals go there a lot. It's nice because it's free and you can literally drive right into the waves if you feel like it. It's often really empty, I went twice this week and there was only one other person parked in a 500 yard area. It rocks!</p> <p>As far as Houston, there's art museums, an aquarium, and a Children's Museum. Also some kind of historical battleship. We also live near Galveston Island, which has some good attractions. And my parents live outside Austin in the Hill Country, so there's loads to see there! I already love taking Charlie around in our baby bjorn. The Theatre of Dreams (Manchester United's stadium aka Old Trafford) isn't too far. We also have a cool Museum of Science and Industry because Manchester is where the Industrial Revolution began. Liverpool is less than an hour away, so you can go see Beatles stuff there. </p>
