Lego and the balance bike for us. DS (4.5 years old) played lego every single day since we got it for him at 1.5 years old! We are slowly transitioning from duplo to junior since about a year ago, and all of them are getting played at the moment. Worth every single penny :)

He's 22 months and he loves his Thomas wooden train track and trains, his play stroller and baby, and he's finally really getting into his megablocks.

For his 2nd bday in September I want to get magnatiles and extensions for his wooden train tracks!

@fussygal: we bought that kitchen for my son when he was almost 2 and NO ONE plays with it! Makes me crazy. I'm still holding on to it for a few more years in case DD gets interested, but it mainly just sits there taking up space. :silly:

Definitely Legos for my 5 yo son. For my 2.5 yo DD, it's hard to say. She loves her baby doll and princess dress and went through a big puzzle phase recently, but she doesn't seem to gravitate to the same thing over and over.

Both boys (2 & almost 4) play all day with their Imaginext toys/playskool Heros toys. They are little figures for almost all superheroes and they also have tons of buildings and cars and stuff to go with them.

They also love their Octonaut toys.

Gosh my 3 year old just plays weird make believe games with random stuff. I don't know why we have toys. I could give him a stick, a string and a box and he'd have a blast making up some story with them. He does like Legos though.

E is almost 4. He loves play doh and character action figures the most right now. With J (14 months old), he loves cars or anything with wheels on them. He loves Hot Wheels, trucks, or little push cars that zoom. Forget all of the cute babyish toys he has, it's all about the cars.

DD is 19 months... I'd say the activity table. She has had it since she could pull up to stand (when is that, like 9-10 months??) But from like 14 mo on she's learning all the words/songs, etc. I had put it away for a while but she found it and still asks me to take it out all the time.

The other thing is probably play kitchen too, I see this thing out for a long long time!

DD inherited an IKEA play kitchen and play food about five months ago and it's hands down her favorite thing to play with. It's usually the first thing she goes to each morning and she plays with it on and off throughout the day. It's almost to the point that she doesn't play with her other toys much! She's almost 2.5 and I can see her playing with it for a lot longer so I'm trying to keep it "fresh" by buying her new foods and accessories.
