Once i stopped, I went back on the regular full on pill. I think I'm actually traumatized by my labour/delivery -- I told Mr. D that I might need therapy before we consider another, and I might just be done, now. So... I'm really worried about this, because I want something effective, but I can't deal with hormones and I'm scared of an IUD. We've said in the past that we'd use condoms and just ended up pulling and praying, which totally worked for 3 years until there was no pulling and I got pregnant, but I reallllly don't want to risk it. It worked for us for 7 years prior to getting pregnant, so fingers crossed it'll work again. I'm against any forms of hormonal birth control (just for personal health reasons), and I wouldn't want anything semi-permanent (like an IUD). In the first few months pp, your hormones are all over the place - adding hormonal BC just ups the ante. Most people do totally fine with these additional hormones, but I didn't. I was on a strong dose of progesterone for about 8 months and I was a crazy person - depressed, wild mood swings, etc. It felt like I had the worst PMS of my life every day. But I didn't realize that it was the pill - I thought it was normal to feel that way pp. Now that I am off the crazy pills, I feel 100% like myself again. It took multiple types of fertility meds at pretty strong doses to even get me to ovulate. If and when my period ever returns on it's own, I'll consider going back to Nuvaring. I used the nuva ring before getting pregnant and I absolutely love it, but you can't use it while breastfeeding. I can never remember to take any kind of pill on time and I hate condoms. My DH is ultimately going to get a vasectomy too, but probably not for a few years. I guess we will probaby have to use condoms. I don't trust the mini pill--I've heard too many stories of women getting pregnant on it and it causing your supply to drop. DH is eventually going to get a vasectomy. I know that there is an actual spot in the boards for this but since we're all in the same place and our forum is more active then that area I'd start a topic here instead- hope that's ok! I have my "6 week" PP check-up in 2ish weeks and I know they're going to talk to me about Birth Control... and since I wasn't on any for about 9 years I'm so lost on what to go with... I had planned not to go on anything and just chance it, but right now, Hubby is very "anti-oops baby" and knowing our luck, it'd be easy as pie getting pregnant this time, and I'd be pregnant within a month or two (because it took us so long before LOL) What methods are you guys planning to use? Anything you are dead set against?
