This year I've read Bossypants (Tiny Fey) and Ready Player One. I also want to read Delirium.

It's an older book but I just tore through The Red Tent. One of the best books I've read in a long time.

I'm reading In the Country by Mia Alvar (who happens to be my boss' daughter!) this summer. It's a collection of short stories that "vividly gives voice to the women and men of the Filipino diaspora." I think it's beautifully written and you might enjoy reading it while on your visit there.

I've recommended The Martian to everybody and everybody I know has loved it - impossible to stop reading, though, so if you want to enjoy your vacation it's a bit dangerous. I also really loved All The Light We Cannot See.

I recently read and enjoyed A Hundred Summers, and a great summer read is The Royal We by Jessica Cocks and Heather Morgan (the Fug Girls, if you read Go Fug Yourself).

I just finished The Girl on the Train, great book...
The Selection is a great series (YA), and also recently read The Martian, which was hard to put down!

My summer reading is always YA centric. So easy to get through!
Wonder is my favorite recommendation.
I hunt killers (trilogy): murder mystery light
Graceling trilogy: same vein as Divergent/hunger games
I also recently read Code name Verity which was a good quick read!

I love to catch up on reading when we come to the Philippines each summer because most of the year I zone out on tv shows instead of reading, even though I love reading! I'm planning on writing a review of some of the books I've read on my trips because I usually get through a ton since electricity is limited here.

So far on this trip I've read Strip Tease by Carl Hiaasen (Olive found it on the street in Brooklyn and I'm a fan of his books), The Rosie Project (loved!), The Husband's Secret, and The Girl on the Train.

I also have The Book Thief, All the Light We Cannot See, and The Boys in the Boat on my Kindle. I'm currently reading Poking a Dead Frog: Conversations With Today's Top Comedy Writers, and also plan on reading So You've Been Publicly Shamed (two books from Mr. Bee's kindle).

What have been some of your favorite vacation reads? My tastes are very varied!
